About Snider Precisioin
Our story
Snider Precision started out in a garage in Oxnard, CA back in 1977, 47 years ago, when Mark Snider decided to buy his first used Tsugami chucker and Bridgeport mill. After a year, with his young son just going into kindergarten, Mark and his wife Margaret realized that city life was not right for the family. The decision was made to relocate them and the business to the quiet coastal town of Los Osos. Once in Los Osos, Mark set up shop on a local ranch and found Patty Montoya, a quality expert, who he convinced to join the team. This is when Snider Precision really found its momentum and had the opportunity to prove its capabilities in the aerospace and medical fields. In 1986 as Snider Precision grew out of the old ranch barn, Mark and Margaret began construction of a new building to house the expanding business in an industrial area of San Luis Obispo where it resides today.
Through continual improvements to equipment and technology, additions of personnel all while constructing a new building within the industrial park, Snider Precision has maintained a leading edge in the market. Throughout the years, Mark and Margaret have been able to keep this a family business with their two sons Damon and Chris and granddaughter Haily all working for the success of the company. Today, Mark has handed the reigns over to Damon Snider as CEO of Snider Precision to guide the company to the next phase of its life which starts with state-of-the art milling and turning machinery and by the end of 2024 will have in place a fully digital ERP along with ISO9001:2015 and AS9100D Certification. Snider Precision is a legacy started by Mark and Margaret Snider that will continue through the generations.
